Humane Perspective

If I was the Judge & your daughter the Offender Would you want me to prosecute based on paperwork? Or what’s within her? If she was raped or abused would you want to lock her up with the truth Or give reason to her voice? If your niece committed a crime & robbed a guy Would you be ok with sentencing her to time without knowing why Or would you try to tap into her mind? I ask these questions Because it happened to me With no objection no genuine protection At is I was sentenced to 20 years doing time Which mean a waste of 10 years of my life 10 years until I can pursue my dream career 10 years I’m not there to wipe my mother’s tears Or help my little brother face his fears Its things like this that at times make me feel I’m alone But then I look at my surroundings I realize everybody else is also drowning Stressing fighting depression This could have easily been you Put yourself in my shoes 1 slip up 1 mistake That’s all it takes for the judge to take your life away — Lici —
